Using a combination of contemporary modalities and cultural teachings, Heart Earth offers a unique experience that facilitates people to heal and embrace their own strengths and experience of transformation. Leanna approaches this sacred work with care, compassion, and gentleness.
About Leanna
Heart Earth Counselling and Consulting is owned by Anishnaabekwe, Leanna Marshall.
Leanna Marshall was born in Thunder Bay and is a band member of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation (Big Trout Lake).
For Leanna, work with community is an opportunity to encourage connection and strengthen relationships with all of our relatives.
“I have been a practicing clinician for 20+ years. My approach to working with people is deeply intertwined with my identity and culture as an Anishnaabe woman. I focus on creating an authentic space for people to feel safe enough to be vulnerable. I believe in the power of transformation and that support and empathy are essential on the journey of change.
To help people process the trauma that they have experienced, I use a multi-modal approach to the therapeutic experience, notably EMDR, art therapy, land-based teachings, and cultural teachings.”

Heart Earth Counselling bills through Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) and Indigenous Services Canada (Residential School, MMIW, etc). We do not do direct billing to insurance companies. During our consultation, Leanna will be happy to go over fees and payment options.
